Students individually need to research a case related to current tax law issues and write a report. The research will be conducted during class time. Students’ will be taken to a computer lab for this session or it may be conducted online using Zoom session.
Case: A random case from the given list (attached at the end) will be selected through a lottery system for each student.

Your analysis and discussion must revolve around to answer the following questions. The report must reflect your own work.
Question 1 Summarize the case in your own words and explain the main issue/s involved in the case.
Question 2 Write down all the tax legislation applied in this case by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal of Australia. Pick any five legislative provisions (acts or the relevant rules) to express your view of how the law is likely to apply to the client?
Question 3 Explain and relate any two judicial precedents or decision of courts interpreting the provisions in past cases that closely resembles the client’s situation.
Question 4 Detail all the probable outcomes the court may consider using the facts and laws in light of the doctrine of precedents.
