  • Students are asked to identify issues, challenges, perspectives and best practice initiatives in managing and leading people in international organisations.

Students will write up a 1000 word reflection about their individual development to date with a clear focus on:

  1. Change that has taken place in work and/or university that has impacted you;
  2. An honest reflection of how you responded to this change, identifying positive and negative responses, where applicable;
  3. Consideration of your response, what you have learned and whether/how you might respond differently when confronted by change again;
  4. Future ideas and plans for your further personal and professional development

The objective of this reflective writing process is to consider the part that reflection plays in learning, understanding, and the importance of reflection to professionals. Students are aiming to achieve levels of reflection so as to produce greater depths of understanding.

This module aims to enable students to acquire knowledge and an understanding of the core areas of Human Resource Management (HRM) and the factors which influence behaviour within organisations. This knowledge and understanding is essential for effective and efficient management practice, in particular, effectively managing, leading and developing people. Learning will be by teaching, discussion and independent study.
